Established in the fall of 2005, Franklin Construction Limited (FCL) was founded by Franklin Development to provide an in‑house solution for its growing construction needs. To lead the division, longtime business associate and friend Aubra Franklin brought in Karl J. Wanke as the company’s primary Managing Member. Karl’s extensive background in asset management, property maintenance, capital improvements, and overall industry expertise quickly became a driving force behind the company’s long term success.

The professional partnership between Aubra and Karl spans nearly three decades and is rooted in a shared commitment to quality, accountability, and excellence. Their combined expertise helped establish the foundation upon which FCL built it’s reputation in the multifamily construction industry. Through a hands on approach and personal investment in every project, FCL became known for its integrity, craftsmanship, and dedication to creating exceptional housing communities.

As the company evolved, so did its leadership. In January 2026, Karl J. Wanke acquired full ownership of Franklin Construction Limited, marking a significant milestone in the company’s history and a natural progression of its continued growth. Shortly thereafter, he welcomed Executive Vice President, Karl K. Wanke, as a partner and secondary owner.

Prior to his transition into ownership, Karl K. had already played a critical role in shaping FCL’s future. His leadership in business development helped expand operations, strengthen the company’s presence across multiple states, and cultivate a strong and sustainable project pipeline. His addition to the ownership team reflects a shared vision for the company’s future and reinforces FCL’s commitment to innovation, strategic growth, and operational excellence.
